BBC religion flagships safe

Rumours that Songs of Praise could become a multi-faith programme and that Radio 4’s Daily Service and Thought for the Day could be axed have been quashed. BBC Head of Religion Aaqil Ahmend, the BBC’s head of Religions and Ethics, reassured the Church and Media Forum this week that Songs of Praise would continue as a Christian programme. Radio 4 controller Gwyneth Williams, said current arrangements for the Daily Service would last for 10 years and the future of Thought for the Day would be safe as long as she is in the job
