Al Gore’s nine errors on “climate change”
Posted in Blog Those of us who, while open-minded on the contested science of global warming, are deeply concerned about the costs and other implications of many of the policies currently being advocated, should never forget the nine errors identified by the British High Court in Al Gore’s propaganda film “An Inconvenient Truth”.
The court held that
1 there was insufficient evidence to support Gore’s claims that human-induced climate change had caused the disappearance of snow on Mt Kilimanjaro
2 there was insufficient evidence to support Gore’s claims about drying up of Lake Chad
3 there was insufficient evidence to support Gore’s claims about Hurricane Katrina
4 there was insufficient evidence to support Gore’s claims about the bleaching of coral reefs
5 his claim that global warming will shut down the Ocean Conveyor in the future was “very unlikely”
6 his claim that it will cause all the ice of Greenland to melt and sea levels to rise by seven metres in the near future was “distinctly alarmist” and “not in line with the scientific consensus” (because it would take millennia for Greenland’s ice to melt and release that much water)
7 Graphs Gore used in the film to show an exact fit between rising CO2 and rising temperatures did not “establish what Mr Gore asserts”
8 there was no evidence to support Gore’s claims that human-induced global warming had forced the evacuation of Pacific nations toNew Zealand
9 there was no evidence to support Gore’s claims that human-induced global warming had caused polar bears to drown.
